Pré-party
20.30– 01.00
Lucas Malec (Arg)
As a DJ Lucas is a guarantee for excellent music, he keeps the energy levels high and he is on top of what happens on the dance floor. Lucas feels what he plays. Boredom does not exist in his voculabary. Technical mistakes neither. Lucas runs his own milonga, has his own tangoschool in Belgium, teaches tango, travels the world and lives between Amsterdam, Buenos Aires and Belgium. “Being a DJ at Encuentro Porteño is for me the best opportunity to bring out the best jewels in tango music for a group of people who deeply love tango and share a passion to dance through a roller coaster of sensations. At Encuentro Porteño we always have a bit of party and a bit of poetry"
My preferred tangos at the moment: Mañana zarpa un barco - Lucio DemareCorazon - Di Sarli con Rufino Rodando tu esquina - Pugliese con Chanel No Mientas - D’Arienzo

Milonga de bienvenida
20.00 – 01.00
Santiago Onel (Ur)
I started with tango 24 years ago in Uruguay. Having moved to Europe, I have been active as dancer, teacher and DJ, mostly in the Netherlands and in Europe. My way of DJing can be seen as the product of the influence of my native country, the regular visits to Buenos Aires and my life in Europe.I believe that tango (including DJing) is a never ending learning process. My DJing is neither dogmatic nor tainted by an academic approach of playing unknown tangos just for the sake of it. My selection always looks to touch the heart of the milongueros and milongueras and keep them on the dance floor. Be sure of the contagious happy spirit and energetic party modus that Santiago brings along! Never a dull tango. Santiago gives the dancers the music that they need. A DJ that is always inspired, focussed and reliable: this is Santiago! "I am happy to be invited on "the other side" of the dancefloor, contributing to make the 10th Encuentro again an unforgettable event.
My three preferred tangos at the moment: Pugliese - Morån: CobardiaDarienzo (40ties): La BicocaCalo-Iriarte: Mañana no estarás

El Corazon
14.00 – 18.00
Corine Groenewegen (Nl)
“Organizer of Encuentro Porteño and Milonguero salon 'la Bruja’ in Amsterdam, is the most enchanting Brujita we know! She is a DJ with a very own brand, in which we can feel her personality, strong and sensitive at the same time. The 'golden age' of tango is clearly her gauge, in the wake of the 'guardia vieja'. The high energy she generates on the dance floor, emerges from the unforgettable tangos and from lively ‘cortinas’. Her choices are the reflection of a rich experience, as a milonguera, as an organizer, as a teacher and as a woman, constantly traveling to Buenos Aires, as the rest of Europe.” (Tekst by La Morocha Lucena)
Three preferred tangos at the moment:
Vuelves - Fresedo/ Roberto RayAmarotto - D’Arienzo /EchagueMañana ire temprano - Miguel Calo / Iriarte

“I started to play music because going to many Milongas in different countries I realised that most of the djs played tangos that were very difficult to dance, while the Milonguero's in Buenos Aires like the typical orchestras of the 40's +/-I Like to play at Enuentro Porteño to be able to recreate in a milonga far away from Bs As with the music of the Milongas of Buenos Aires.”
Carlos preferred tangos at the moment:
anturi - Campos: Malvon DArienzo - Echague: Bien Polenta Jose Basso - Floreal Ruiz: Por la Vuelta

A baillar Chamamé by
Layla Miño (Arg)
13.00
A Lover of tango will LOVE Chamamé!
All participants of Encuentro Porteño are invited to an unforgettable experience and a joyful moment. At night the daredevils can bring the steps into practice during the Peña. Laila will give us an introduction to one of the best folklore dances of Argentina: CHAMAME! Chamame is danced in a close embrace and there is no fixed choreography, just like tango. The dance comes from Corrientes in Argentina but it is popular al through the country. Recognised by the Unesco heritage, the music is contagious and a combination of Polka and Walz. Intense and melancholic. Laila Miño (Arg - NL) has her roots in the folklore of Argentina, raised with parents that are folklore musicians she became a contemporary and folklore dancer.
“Champagne tango”
14.00 – 18.00
Martin Ottmers (Germany)
"The music I play is the music I listend to in Buenos Aires ("Luchos", "Cachirulo", "Porteno y Bailarin"), so it´s a classical style. I always play D´Arienzo, Di Sarli (several times), Troilo, De Angelis, Calo, Demare, Fresedo, Tanturi, Biagi. Concerning the "old orchestras" I like more to play them in milongas or (rarely) in valses. I play Pugliese when it fits to the energy at the dancefloor. I like Maure, Campos, Rufino and Duran as singers, Fiorentino and Marino with Troilo, Roberto Ray with Fresedo and Larroca with De Angelis and Duval with Biagi. And of course Vargas. It´s obvious that the tangos Í play have to be made for dancers. The most important things are the melody and the interpretation.I prefer to play tangos of the middle of the 40th, from 42 on the tangos become more romantic, the sound a bit more powerful (for example the change of the sound of D´Arienzo in 1943/44).I don´t use a computer. I play music with CDs.” Martins favorite tangos of this moment:D'Arienzo - Carbel: PacienciaD'Angelis - Larocca: En tus brazosPugliese - Maciel: Cascabelito Corine: “Martin could not miss out, on this 10th edition of Encuentro Porteño as my previous dance & teaching partner and he organized milongas long before I started. Martin took me on this road, he was at the start of La Bruja, taught me countless things and prevented me from making mistakes”
18.00 - 23.00
Milonga de despedida:
Peña / Cena with live folklore by “Seis por Ocho
“Loving the sound & the dance of chamamé we invited for the 10th edition of Encuentro Porteño trio "Seis por Ocho". Singer Nino Zannoni, is accompanied by two well recognised musicians of the Chamamé scene: Sergio Cabrera, master gitarist from Mburucuya, and Pablo Bentos, charismatic accordionist from Paso de los Libres. They came straight from Corrientes (Argentina) to Amsterdam to start their tour in Europe with a beautiful live performance at Encuentro Porteño.
Afterparty with
Roham (Iran/NL)
“I have been DJing tango music since 2008. As a DJ, my intention is to create an immersive experience for the dancers: a flow of emotions and sensations that are seamlessly melted together. Dancers describe my music as dynamic and full of energy. I believe that life is too short, so why play and hear anything but the best of the best music of golden era.”
My favorite songs these days:Mi vida que te pasa: Juan D'Arienzo / Jorge Valdez Yo te bendigo: Aníbal Troilo / Edmundo RiveroPa' la muchachada: Osvaldo Pugliese / Miguel Montero
"I feel honored to be invited to DJ at Encuentro Porteño in Amsterdam. This encuentro is among those encuentros in Europe with a high respect for the culture and codigos of social tango. The attention to details and love for the social tango can be immediately experienced in the way the entire event is organized."
